Seattle Colleges Emergency Net (SCEN)

The Seattle Colleges Emergency Net (SCEN) is a team of employees across Seattle Colleges dedicated to assisting the colleges with emergency communications and public safety in times of disaster.

When activated, SCEN members may be assigned to carry out one or more of the following:

  • Provide auxiliary communications and other support services to the logistics section chief.
  • Staff amateur radio base stations, which will be located at each campus, to receive direction, provide status updates, and relay information.
  • Report from the field using SCCD’s handheld amateur radios, utilizing the designated radio frequency to receive direction, provide status updates, and relay information.
