If you have questions about the LEAD program that aren't answered on this page, let us know at eLearning@seattlecolleges.edu.

Who is eligible to participate in LEAD?

This program is for full- and part-time faculty at any of the Seattle Colleges.

Staff members are welcome to participate, but cannot receive stipends.

What are the possible stipends?

Time spent taking LEAD courses, workshops, and other faculty training are paid at approximately $40/hour:

  • "Introduction to Canvas", "Intermediate Canvas", and "Advanced Canvas Design" each pay a $250 stipend upon completion (approximately six hours).

  • Completion of "Guided Course Peer Review" pays a $400 stipend (approximately ten hours).

Faculty may complete multiple stipended LEAD offerings per academic year.

If planning to take both LEAD100 or LEAD200, please note that you can only take one at a time, not both simultaneously.

What are the requirements for earning stipends?

Stipends are available for full- and part-time faculty at any of the Seattle Colleges. Staff members may take any LEAD training, but will not be awarded stipends.

To earn your faculty stipend, check the requirements for the training, course, or workshop series for which you registered. They are listed on the respective Canvas homepage and communicated by the facilitator upon registration.

Can I take more than one LEAD offering and earn additional stipends?

Faculty may complete multiple stipended LEAD offerings per academic year.

If planning to take both LEAD100 or LEAD200, please note that you can only take one at a time, not both simultaneously.

What if I am part-time faculty and am not provided a course to teach after I've started a LEAD training?

Situations where part-time faculty stop teaching in the middle of a LEAD course will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis in collaboration with their dean – just let us know!

How do I register for LEAD?

You can register on the LEAD webpage by logging in with your MySeattleColleges account credentials. This is the same as your college email and Office 365 login.

We also have a quick video guide to LEAD you can watch for help with registering, tracking your completed workshops, and more.

When will I be awarded my stipend?

Once you have completed your LEAD training and submitted all the required work, eLearning will initiate the processing of your stipend. Stipends are typically paid out one to two pay periods after you receive a congratulations email about your LEAD completion.
