Following is a general overview for managers of the processes and steps involved in hiring and recruiting employees at Seattle Colleges.

The Requisition Process

Once a decision has been made to fill an existing position or to create a new position, a process of submission of documents and changes for approval is followed. The steps below document the normal process for creating the necessary documentation, requesting the changes for approval by your campus administrators, and having the position posted online.

The Recruiting and Interviewing Process

Recruiting begins once the position has been posted on the Seattle Colleges Employment Opportunities website, whereas interviewing begins after the search committee completes its screening process to determine which applicants should be offered an interview. The steps below continue from the requisition process above.

The Hiring and Onboarding Process

The hiring and onboarding process begins once an offer of employment—contingent on the completion of satisfactory background check and screening procedures—has been made by the hiring authority. The steps below continue from the recruiting and interviewing processes above. 

Step 12: Submitting the New Hire Request Form
