Re-entry Specialist
My name is Katie Bates and I am a Retention Specialist for the Seattle Promise Program. I work as an advisor to Seattle Promise STEM and Skilled Trades students as they pursue their college and career goals.
With my role as a Retention Specialist, I help Seattle Promise students explore their career pathway, decide which classes to take towards their degree, and find ways to be successful in all they do at North Seattle College.
Before joining Seattle Promise, I worked at Bellevue College as a Navigator to ESL, ABE, High School + and I-BEST students. I have also worked in TRiO at Highline College and advised for Seattle University. My first professional role was working in a non-profit in Atlanta, GA. I received my Bachelor degree from Gonzaga University and my Masters of Education from Seattle University.
