What to Expect
Welcome to Seattle Colleges! All new Seattle Promise scholars participate in Summer Bridge as a requirement of the Seattle Promise scholarship.
Summer Bridge activities are focused to provide you with the tools and skills you need to be successful in your first quarter of college. This year, we are offering multiple Summer Bridge events you can choose from. All students must attend one event.
Summer Bridge will be offered in-person, on campus. Only one day is required. Each event is typically scheduled for 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with check-in starting at 9:30 a.m. Students should plan to arrive by 9:45 a.m. at the latest and to be at Summer Bridge for the duration of the event.
Plan Ahead:
August 27 or 28: at North Seattle College for students who plan to attend North Seattle College
September 4 or 5: at Seattle Central College for students who plan to attend Seattle Central College
September 10: at South Seattle College for students who plan to attend South Seattle College
Come prepared:
- Wear comfortable, casual clothing and shoes – there will be walking.
- Bring a bag or backpack to carry folders and other resources given to you.
- Bring a notebook or device to take notes.
The agenda for each session includes:
- Welcome
- Connecting with your campus community
- Rotating workshops including Student Technology, Academic Resources and Strategies, Mock Classroom Experience, and a Student Panel
- The Promise Fair, including food, campus tours, and a resource fair
We are offering specialized sessions for Running Start students who have already earned college credit.
Note: Students unable to attend the scheduled in-person event can request to attend an alternative virtual Summer Bridge session.
Note: Details will be sent to attendees via email when they sign up to attend.
