Hi! I’m Eli (he/him) and I’m the Instructional Designer at South Seattle College. I’m originally from Southern California, where I received my M.A .in English, as well as attended art school, and earned an Associates in Computer Integrated Design and Graphics. I have a few years of teaching English under my belt, specifically composition courses.

One of my favorite parts of my job is designing fun and engaging course content that also meets, and occasionally exceeds, accessibility standards. I love exploring new learning platforms, tools, and approaches, and finding solutions to pedagogical concerns that arise in the intersection between education and design.

Faculty and Staff alike are encouraged to book consultations with me for support with a multitude of goals including, but not limited to:

  • Streamlining workflows (reusing or repurposing materials effectively from quarter to quarter).
  • Collecting student feedback that is meaningful and applicable.
  • Revising content or assignments based on student feedback.
  • Exploring new trends or tools in education (gamification, AI, etc.).
  • Transitioning content or activities format (online to hybrid, in-person to virtual, etc.).
  • Improving accessibility and inclusion through technical standards as well as content delivery.
  • Enhancing student engagement through more interactive design.
  • Tech support with things like Canvas, Office 365, or Google Suite.
