Senior Executive Director of Workforce
Dr. Dalia Sherif is Seattle Colleges' newly appointed Senior Executive Director of Workforce Education. Previously, serving as the Executive Dean of Baccalaureate Programs and Partnerships at Lone Star College, Dr. Sherif operated within Academic Affairs and Workforce Success. Prior to that she held the position of Lead Faculty at the same institution. Before her tenure at Lone Star College, Dr. Sherif was the Assistant Director of the MBA program at the University of Houston-Downtown, where she played a crucial role in transforming the program from the smallest in Houston to the largest in Texas.
Her professional journey also includes a significant role as a Commercial Specialist with the U.S. Department of Commerce, where she led the Study USA and Fulbright Community College initiatives. She was instrumental in promoting U.S. higher education across 15 countries, utilizing expert analysis and predictive data to develop impactful marketing strategies. She crafted and implemented national-level enrollment and international recruitment strategies, developed innovative educational marketing campaigns, authored influential market reports, organized high-profile trade events, provided strategic counsel to international educators and prospective students, and facilitated effective partnership programs. This experience underscores her unique expertise and exceptional leadership in advancing higher education.
Dr. Sherif is an accomplished leader in higher education, renowned for her commitment to excellence and student success. Recognized as a distinguished honoree by the Houston Business Journal in 2019, she earned accolades as a "Woman Who Means Business" and a "Woman to Watch." In addition, she was honored with the Jesse H. Jones Global Leadership Award in 2023. These prestigious awards celebrate her extensive contributions to higher education, advocacy, workforce education, community service, integrated marketing communication, and educational leadership.
Dr. Sherif holds a Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Grand Canyon University, an MBA, and two postgraduate business certificates from Edinburgh Business School. As a lifelong learner, she recently completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Leadership and Management at Harvard Business School Online and is currently enrolled in a Data Analytics Postgraduate Certificate program at A&M-Central Texas. Her dedication and expertise have been recognized with several Superior Honor Awards and Meritorious Honor Awards from the U.S. Departments of State and Commerce. Committed to community service and civic engagement, she actively contributes to various organizations including the Asian Chamber of Commerce, East End Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Houston, Women Professionals in Government, Institute of Reflective Practice, Psi Chi Honor Society, Alpha Chi, and Global Goodwill Ambassadors.
