One of the most economical ways to study abroad is through Exchange Agreements.
Exchange Agreements are made between two institutions and are monitored to ensure that there are equal
numbers of students passing back and forth. Students only pay tuition/fees to their home institution and
can utilize financial aid, if eligible. Other study costs are paid directly to the institution they are
going to attend and students are completely responsible for room/board, travel expenses and everything
outside of tuition and fees.
Students interested in participating in an Exchange program typically need to be recommended to represent
their home institution in the exchange. There is an application process on both sides of the exchange.
If the exchange slots are already full, students often have the option of applying to the overseas
institution and paying tuition and fees. Sometimes the institution will provide some type of discount
as part of the partnership.
